This week covered the stages of Information Systems Development. In the first day of the week our teacher lectured to us about the 4 vital information that we'll have always to remember. Namely first, the Stages of Information System Development which consists of Planning, Analysis, Design, Implementation, and Support and Maintenance. Second is the Organizational Knowledge namely, the Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Production, Distribution, Inventory and Purchasing, Human Resources, Accounting and Product Development. Third, is about the task of ICTM professionals Data Capture, Data Storage, Information processing, Distribution and Access to Information, and Presentation of Information. Lastly, is the the vital parts of an Information System which are, Hardware, Software, People, Process, Data and Network.
Our main lecture for this week is about the First stage of Information Systems Development which is Planning. I learned that one must plan when to use an Information System and an Information supports Internal Improvement, Internal Mandate, External Mandate and Strategic Decision. One must also know if the problem is feasible and its type of feasibility; whether it is economic , technical or organizational. And that every planning must prepare to enter the next phase of Information Systems Development which is Analysis with a pre-Analysis activity. This activity requires: Finding the detailed situation and data gathering.
